Duties
- Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical systems within HVAC equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure peak performance and longevity.
- Troubleshoot complex equipment failures through mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration diagnostics; implement effective repairs promptly.
- Collaborate with clients to provide exceptional customer service by explaining system issues clearly and recommending appropriate solutions.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Experience
- Proven experience as an HVAC service technician or in a similar construction or mechanical field role.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with schematics, building automation systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and refrigeration technology.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) equipment troubleshooting using hand tools and diagnostic instruments such as ohmmeters.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of mechanical systems repair and HVAC system design principles.
- Ability to read technical diagrams accurately and work effectively from schematics during installations or repairs.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in electrical diagnostics or HVAC design are a plus.
