What are the responsibilities and job description for the After-School Robotics Instructor position at Robotfun Academy?
About the Job
We are looking for after-school Robotics instructors on Weekends. We are particularly looking for candidates with engineering background, especially with LEGO or VEX Robotics experience.
As a STEM Robotics Instructor your responsibilities will include:
- Teach building, programming, engineering LEGO or VEX robotics products with plastic or metal parts.
- Be able to improve and create new teaching content individually.
- Be curious, adaptive, and have strong initiatives to research and engineering build robots prototypes and explain mechanisms behind to the class students.
- Adequately prepare for each session by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in training sessions.
- Provide guidance and support to students as they work on individual and group projects.
- Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Communicate with parents if needed, i.e. sharing their children's successes!
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
- Helping with daily operations and keep classroom in good manner.
Qualifications:
- You must love working with kids!
- Bachelor's degree completed or in pursuing in Engineering related fields.
- Have previous experience working with children in a classroom, camp, or similar environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
- Authorized to work in US.
Preferred if you have:
- Previous experience teaching VEX robotics.
- VEX Robotics Competition experience highly preferred.
Ability to commute :
- Wellesley, MA: Reliably commute by his/her own way to work place on time (Required)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
