Role Overview
The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end logistics operations, including inbound materials, inventory management, warehousing, and outbound distribution. This role ensures the seamless flow of components and finished goods across the supply chain to support manufacturing continuity and customer delivery commitments.
The ideal candidate brings a strong operational mindset, data-driven decision-making, and experience in high-tech or manufacturing environments. This role is critical in optimizing cost, speed, and reliability within a fast-paced, scaling organization.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Supply Chain Operations
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including transportation, freight, and customs (if applicable)
- Ensure timely delivery of raw materials to support production schedules
- Oversee shipment of finished goods to customers and distribution partners
- Develop and optimize logistics strategies to improve lead times and service levels
Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Oversee inventory control processes to ensure accuracy, traceability, and availability of materials
- Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping
- Implement inventory optimization strategies (safety stock, reorder points, cycle counts)
- Partner with Procurement and Production Planning to align supply with demand
Systems & Process Optimization
- Implement and manage logistics and inventory systems (ERP, WMS)
- Establish KPIs (on-time delivery, inventory turns, order accuracy, freight cost) and drive performance improvements
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement initiatives (Lean principles)
- Support digitalization and automation of logistics workflows
Vendor & Transportation Management
- Manage relationships with freight carriers, 3PL providers, and logistics vendors
- Negotiate contracts, rates, and service-level agreements
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure cost-effective, reliable service
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, import/export requirements, and safety standards
- Mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, delays, and capacity constraints
- Maintain proper documentation for shipments and regulatory compliance
Budget & Cost Control
- Develop and manage logistics budgets (freight, warehousing, packaging)
- Track and analyze logistics costs, identifying savings opportunities
- Optimize transportation modes and routes to balance cost and delivery speed
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering, and Customer Operations teams
- Align logistics planning with production schedules and customer demand forecasts
- Support new product introductions (NPI) with logistics planning and execution
Team Leadership
- Build, lead, and develop a team of logistics coordinators and warehouse staff
- Establish performance metrics and accountability structures
- Foster a culture of operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7–10 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Strong understanding of transportation, inventory control, and warehouse operations
- Experience with ERP and/or WMS systems
- Knowledge of logistics KPIs and data-driven performance management
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (DOT, import/export, or equivalent)
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in robotics, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing environments
- Experience supporting fast-scaling operations or startups
- Knowledge of global logistics and international shipping processes
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience
- Experience with automated warehousing or advanced logistics technologies
Pay: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
