Van Driver

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Pay Rate: $18.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Van Driver to provide safe and reliable transportation for our residents to and from medical appointments and other facility-related appointments. The ideal candidate will be professional, patient, safety-conscious, and comfortable working with the elderly population.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from medical and other scheduled appointments.

• Assist residents with entering and exiting the facility vehicle as needed.

• Ensure residents are safely secured and comfortable during transportation.

• Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate service to residents.

• Maintain a safe and clean vehicle environment.

• Complete required vehicle safety checks and report any maintenance or safety concerns.

• Maintain accurate transportation and mileage records as required.

• Communicate appointment schedules and transportation needs with facility staff.

• Follow all facility policies, procedures, and applicable transportation regulations.

• Maintain resident confidentiality and protect residents' privacy and dignity.

• Assist with other transportation-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current NYS Driver’s License in good standing.

• Current CNA certification preferred, or willingness to obtain CNA certification.

• Must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT physical examination; company will pay for the required physical.

• Previous experience transporting or working with seniors is preferred.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Dependable, punctual, and professional.

• Ability to work independently while following facility procedures.

• Must demonstrate patience, compassion, and a commitment to resident safety.
