About the Role
Our client, a highly regarded boutique investment bank with a strong focus on private capital raising, has engaged us to identify an experienced Partner – Private Placements to join their New York team. The firm has built a reputation for delivering sophisticated capital-raising solutions for emerging growth and middle-market companies across a range of sectors. They operate with the agility of a small firm, yet compete directly with much larger platforms through deep relationships and a strong execution track record. This is a senior hire that will sit at the core of the firm’s continued expansion.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this Partner role, you will be responsible for both originating and leading private placement mandates. The firm is looking for someone who brings a strong network, proven execution capabilities, and the ability to operate at a strategic leadership level. Key responsibilities include:
- Originating new mandates across private equity, growth equity, venture capital, private credit, and structured capital.
- Leading end-to-end deal execution: investor outreach, diligence, structuring, negotiation, and closing.
- Leveraging an established network of institutional investors—credit funds, PE/VC firms, family offices, strategic investors, and alternative capital providers.
- Mentoring and developing junior bankers and actively contributing to firm-wide growth initiatives.
- Working closely with senior leadership on market strategy, product positioning, and expansion of the private capital advisory offering.
- Representing the firm in the NYC investment community, industry events, and investor meetings.
What We’re Looking For
Our client is seeking a senior professional with:
- 10 years of investment banking, private capital advisory, or institutional capital-raising experience.
- A demonstrable track record successfully closing private placement deals.
- A deep, active network of relevant investors.
- Strong technical and structuring skills, along with a sophisticated understanding of private markets.
- An entrepreneurial, collaborative mindset suited to a growing boutique environment.
- Required regulatory licensing (Series 7, 63, 79) or the ability to obtain these.
