Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain various types of roofing systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure precise execution of roofing projects
- Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks safely and efficiently on construction sites
- Conduct inspections of existing roofs to identify damage or deterioration requiring repair or replacement
- Utilize construction estimating skills to assess project scope, materials needed, and timeframes
- Coordinate with team members to ensure adherence to safety protocols and project timelines
- Assist with restoration projects involving stucco, masonry, metal stud framing, or other related construction tasks
Skills
- Extensive experience with roofing installation, repair, and restoration techniques
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as hammers, chisels, screwdrivers, and caulking guns
- Skilled in operating power tools including nail guns, drills, saws, and grinders
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating processes for accurate project planning
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings confidently
- Experience with related trades such as carpentry (trim carpentry), framing (frame carpentry), masonry, plumbing, welding, tile laying, and concrete forming
- Familiarity with construction site safety standards and protocols for working at heights
- Capable of heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks over extended periods
- Knowledge of schematics for metal stud framing or other structural components
- Handyman experience that enhances versatility across multiple trades within construction projects
