Dorsey Trailer, LLC has an opening for experienced welders. This opening is in Elba, Alabama.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Measure, cut, and shape metal materials using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
- Perform MIG, and/or Stick welding based on project requirements
- Assemble and fit metal components to meet design specifications
- Inspect finished welds to ensure structural soundness and quality standards
- Operate fabrication machinery such as press brakes, shear machines, and plasma cutters
- Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition
- Follow all workplace safety standards and procedures
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to complete projects on schedule
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Technical certification in Welding preferred)
- Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator or similar role
- Proficiency in MIG, and TIG welding
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Strong understanding of metal properties and fabrication techniques
- Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and squares
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS (American Welding Society) certification
- Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, and structural steel
Hours
- Monday through Friday 6:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Must be capable of working additional hours as needed.
