Position Overview
The Writer/Editor is responsible for creating, editing, and ensuring the quality and consistency of content across digital and print communication channels. This role requires strong editorial judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging content. The position is full-time for one year with a hybrid schedule, requiring onsite work at least two days per week in Raleigh, NC.
Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and proofread content including news releases, blogs, website and email content, social media, newsletters, brochures, and long-form materials.
- Conduct interviews and independent research to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Apply AP Style and internal editorial standards consistently.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, designers, and photographers to produce cohesive content.
- Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining high quality.
- Contribute to content strategy and editorial planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English, or related field.
- 5 years of professional writing and editing experience, preferably in healthcare, medical communications, or journalism.
- Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex or technical information.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work independently.
Additional Requirements
- Occasional travel (up to 10%).
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and sit or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work onsite in Raleigh, NC at least two days per week.
