VP/Director of Finance

We are looking for a dynamic and strategic VP/Director of Finance to lead and optimize financial operations for a multi-location orthodontic organization based in Mount Prospect, Illinois. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient revenue cycle management, accurate financial reporting, and robust budgeting processes. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of leadership, analytical expertise, and healthcare finance knowledge to support organizational growth and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger management, payroll coordination, and month-end closing.

• Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance and readiness for audits while safeguarding financial health.

• Supervise revenue cycle processes, including claims processing, payment posting, and collections, with a focus on orthodontic-specific workflows such as payment plans and global fees.

• Optimize billing and insurance verification procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce denials.

• Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to executive leadership.

• Analyze financial performance metrics across multiple locations to identify cost-saving opportunities and revenue enhancement strategies.

• Lead the budgeting process, including financial forecasting for production, expenses, and cash flow.

• Develop and manage dashboards for tracking key operational and financial metrics tailored to orthodontic practices.

• Mentor and manage finance team members, fostering growth and implementing standardized procedures.

• Collaborate with senior leadership and practice managers to align financial strategies with organizational goals.

Salary: $100-120K

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is required; advanced degrees or certifications are preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in healthcare, orthodontics, or dental finance.
• Proven expertise in managing billing teams and accounting staff across multi-site operations.
• In-depth knowledge of orthodontic billing workflows, insurance verification processes, and payment plans.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling techniques.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to drive team performance and organizational success.
• Experience in preparing budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow analyses.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior executives.
