Responsibilities:
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of U.S. trademark laws, USPTO procedures, and trademark portfolio management.
- Monitor and manage trademark-related deadlines, ensuring all necessary filings and responses are submitted to the USPTO in a timely manner.
- Learn and effectively apply trademark and brand guidelines to ensure correct use of brands across internal and external communications.
- Collaborate with internal business teams to address and resolve any identified improper use of trademarks or brand assets.
- Assist in trademark enforcement, including proactive investigation of suspected misuse, preparing and sending enforcement letters using approved templates, and maintaining enforcement records.
- Ensure due diligence through the use of trademark management software and tracking tools.
- Support domain name protection efforts, including familiarity with domain registration processes and Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) proceedings.
- Conduct online research to identify brand misuse on websites, social media platforms, and advertising channels.
- Track instances of trademark infringement and develop routine reports by leveraging automated tools for brand protection monitoring.
Qualifications:
- At least 2–3 years of direct experience as a trademark paralegal, preferably in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Expertise in U.S. trademark prosecution, filings, and maintenance procedures before the USPTO.
- Proficiency in using trademark and IP management software.
- Strong research, organization, and reporting skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Familiarity with domain registration, UDRP, and online enforcement strategies is highly desired.
