Technical Report Writer

We are seeking a Workday Advanced Reporting Consultant to support a large-scale Workday implementation transitioning from ADP. This consultant will focus on designing, building, testing, and delivering highly customized, cross-functional Workday reports that span multiple workstreams and exceed standard reporting capabilities.

The consultant will work closely with stakeholders, systems integrator, and HR and Payroll workstream leaders to deliver approximately 30 complex reports requiring advanced customization, security configuration, and cross-system data integration.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deliver advanced custom Workday reports, including matrix and composite reports.

Analyze existing reporting requirements and identify solutions that span multiple Workday workstreams, primarily HR and Payroll.

Combine data from multiple sources into unified reports, including Workday and legacy systems.

Build and manage calculated fields, condition logic, and complex filters.

Configure, validate, and test role-based security to ensure appropriate data visibility across departments.

Perform comprehensive testing to ensure report accuracy, performance, and security compliance.

Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by distributing reports to divisions, collecting feedback, and implementing refinements.

Deliver reports with view and download access within Workday.

Collaborate closely with workstream leads to align reporting with implementation standards and timelines.

Proven expertise in:

Custom Workday reports

Matrix reports

Composite reports

Strong experience working across HR and Payroll datasets.

Demonstrated ability to design and test reports with complex security requirements.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to data accuracy and validation.

Experience supporting Workday implementations or post-go-live reporting remediation.

Workday Advanced Reporting certification(s) strongly preferred.

Technical Skills

Strong SQL skills, including writing and troubleshooting condition logic.

Hands-on experience creating calculated fields and condition fields in Workday.

Understanding of Workday web services.

Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reconciliation, and validation.

Familiarity with Kronos time and attendance data.

Ability to manipulate and reconcile data across systems.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Workday Studio.

Experience with Workday Analytics.

Exposure to EIBs and external data integrations.

Prior experience working in large public-sector or complex enterprise environments.
