Tax Preparer

We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team in Kankakee, Illinois on a contract basis. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file individual, corporate, partnership, and estate tax returns with precision and accuracy.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial data integrity.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

• Utilize Lacerte or UltraTax software to efficiently manage tax preparation tasks.

• Conduct thorough reviews of tax documents to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance.

• Provide support during audits and respond to inquiries related to financial statements or tax returns.

• Stay updated on tax regulations and incorporate changes into the preparation process.

• Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial information and provide guidance on tax-related matters.

• Ensure timely submission of tax returns and adherence to deadlines.

The salary range for this position is $25/hr. to $30/hr.. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Hired contract/temporary professionals are also eligible to enroll in our company 401(k) plan. Visit roberthalf.gobenefits.net for more information.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in preparing individual and corporate tax returns.
• Proficiency in Lacerte and/or UltraTax software is essential.
• Strong skills in Excel and other financial tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Solid understanding of tax regulations and accounting principles.
• Experience in financial statement preparation and account reconciliations.
