What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Manager position at Robert Half?
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team clients team as they continue to grow! This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated financial scenarios, act as a liaison with advisors and attorneys, and contribute to the success of clients.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Prepare and file various tax returns such as Individual income tax, Partnerships, S Corporations, Gift tax, and Private Foundation filings.
- Address client or advisor inquiries regarding financial matters, including income tax, estate planning, asset/liability updates, and risk management considerations in consultation with legal experts.
- Utilize QuickBooks for accounting tasks (experience preferred).
- Leverage MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to develop and manage financial documents.
- Support a wide range of client projects, such as LLC formations, filing LLC annual reports, and coordinating gifts from foundations.
- Provide consultation on tax-related matters such as income tax planning, charitable giving strategies, estate planning, and residency/domicile concerns.
- Develop and implement proactive tax strategies tailored to client needs.
- Collaborate with legal teams to address tax-related matters and recommendations.
- Coordinate with clients’ employers to monitor compensation plans, deferred compensation, and equity awards (e.g., RSUs).
- Oversee or prepare net worth summaries, cash flow reports, and financial analysis on a monthly or quarterly basis using tools like QuickBooks and Excel.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective interpersonal and communication abilities, including verbal and written skills.
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and Outlook.
- Familiarity with Lacerte software is desirable though not mandatory.
- Deep knowledge of taxation laws applicable to high-income individuals and estates.
- Experience advising on asset structuring for privacy, security, and legal protection.
- Understanding of common estate planning techniques and their applications.
Education, Credentials, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (preferred).
- Current CPA certification or CPA candidate.
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
