Robert Half is seeking a Systems Administrator to support a Nonprofit Museum organization based in Seattle, WA. This role supports a stable but evolving IT environment and focuses on maintaining system health, supporting day-to-day infrastructure operations, and owning best-practice systems administration.
The organization is seeking a someone hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable owning core systems across Windows infrastructure, identity, patching, backups, and light networking.
The position is hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote) and is a 4-month contract opportunity, with potential to extend.
Job Details

Job Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve overall system health across infrastructure
- Administer Windows Server environments, including:
- Active Directory (user/group management, GPOs)
- DNS / DHCP
- Support hybrid identity environments using Entra ID (Azure AD) and assist the IT Service Desk
- Own Windows and Linux patching cadence (monthly or quarterly), including backlog remediation through change control
- Support backup, monitoring, and system recovery operations
- Perform light networking troubleshooting, including IP addressing and traffic flow understanding
- Assist with storage and virtualization as needed
- Collaborate closely with IT leadership and Service Desk teams
- Step into projects and initiatives as needed; role is not narrowly scoped
Job Requirements
- Strong Windows Systems Administration experience
- Hands-on experience with:
- Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, DHCP
- Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Experience owning patching in Windows and Linux environments
- Backup and recovery experience
- Rubrik preferred
- Symantec NetBackup or other enterprise backup solutions acceptable
- Solid networking fundamentals
- IP addressing
- Routing concepts
- Understanding traffic flow (Point A → B)
- Ability to work autonomously
- Given a project, can run with it end-to-end
- Comfortable working in a hybrid onsite environment
Nice-to-Haves
- Jenkins or Ansible familiarity (automation exposure is a plus, not required)
- Monitoring tools and system recovery processes
- Familiarity with existing documentation (environment is not process-heavy)
- Exposure to:
- Linux (light administration)
- EMC / Dell / Nimble storage
- Hypervisors

The salary range for this position is $40.00 to $48.00. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
