Sr. Tax Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our team in Harford County, Maryland, on a Contract-to-Permanent basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of client accounts, including individual and corporate tax returns, while contributing to the firm’s growth during tax season. The position is ideal for a driven and detail-oriented individual seeking a long-term partnership within a dynamic CPA firm.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review individual and corporate tax returns with accuracy and attention to detail.

• Manage and oversee 20 client accounts, including large-scale manufacturing clients with significant revenue.

• Utilize software tools such as UltraTax, QuickBooks Online, and NetSuite to streamline tax preparation processes.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including sales and use tax filings.

• Collaborate with clients to address tax-related inquiries and provide strategic advice.

• Analyze financial data to identify potential tax savings and optimize tax strategies.

• Contribute to the firm’s operational goals, including revenue growth initiatives.

• Train and support team members in best practices for tax preparation and client management.

• Work independently and efficiently to meet tight deadlines during peak tax season.

• Participate in the firm’s strategic planning for future growth and potential partnership opportunities.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax preparation and account management.

• Proficiency in preparing individual and corporate tax returns, including sales tax and use tax.

• Familiarity with UltraTax, QuickBooks Online, and NetSuite software.

• Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance standards.

• Ability to manage a high volume of client accounts independently.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle complex workloads.

• Prior experience in a CPA firm is preferred, especially in smaller firm settings.

• Local to the Harford County, Maryland area or willing to commute.
