Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Willoughby, Ohio. This position involves overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounts payable and receivable, and managing month-end closing processes. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in accounting within the manufacturing sector and possess leadership skills to guide a small team.

Responsibilities:
• Supervise and manage account reconciliations, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
• Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, maintaining compliance and efficiency.
• Prepare and post journal entries, adhering to organizational standards.
• Lead month-end closing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Manage general ledger activities using Syteline software.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Provide guidance and support to a small team of 3-4 employees, fostering collaboration and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and company policies.
• Analyze financial data and prepare reports for management review.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
• Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in managing general ledger activities, including Syteline software.
• Strong knowledge of journal entry preparation and account reconciliations.
• Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable operations.
• Prior experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Leadership abilities to effectively manage and mentor a small team.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-department collaboration.
