The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing core accounting functions for the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, and effective use of QuickBooks. This role plays a key part in month-end close, grant tracking, audits, and financial analysis to support the mission of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage the general ledger using QuickBooks
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow monitoring
- Track and reconcile restricted and unrestricted funds
- Monitor grant revenues and expenses; ensure compliance with grant requirements
- Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
- Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies
- Collaborate with program managers to ensure accurate financial reporting
Qualifications
- 3 years' of professional accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience
- CPA preferred
Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
