Key Responsibilities:
- Direct all property accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, cash management, and revenue recognition.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for owned, managed, or leased properties.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for property operations and capital projects.
- Establish, monitor, and improve internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets and support audit requirements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company standards, lender covenants, and applicable regulatory reporting.
- Collaborate with operations, asset management, corporate finance, and executive leadership to support business objectives.
- Coordinate external audits and ensure accurate and timely tax filings related to property holdings.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of property accountants and support staff.
- Oversee systems and process improvements for efficiency and accuracy in property accounting operations.
- Provide insightful analysis and recommendations related to property performance, acquisitions, dispositions, and financing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
- 7 years of progressive experience in property accounting or accounting leadership roles, ideally within a real estate, hospitality, or asset management environment.
- Proven track record managing financial operations for portfolios or companies at $100 million in revenue or assets.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and real estate/property accounting systems.
- Experience with ERP platforms and property management/accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, RealPage).
- Advanced analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Salary : $130,000 - $160,000
