Property Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Property Accountant to join our team in Rochester, New York. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in managing financial operations for real estate portfolios, ensuring accuracy and compliance in accounting processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, leveraging your expertise in property accounting.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and execute month-end closing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Perform accrual accounting tasks, including adjustments and reconciliations to maintain accurate records.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring transactions are properly documented and categorized.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and collections.
• Collaborate with property management teams to oversee financial operations and provide accounting support.
• Utilize property management software, such as Yardi, to streamline accounting processes and reporting.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, maintaining accurate and transparent records.
• Provide timely and accurate financial reports to stakeholders and management.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities to support financial planning efforts.
• Proven experience in property accounting or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of month-end closing procedures and accrual accounting.
• Proficiency in managing general ledger accounts and reconciliations.
• Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Experience working in property management environments.
• Proficiency in Yardi software or similar property management systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities for effective collaboration.
