Position Overview
This Senior Accountant role primarily focuses on the accounting activities related to the construction project component the business. By providing accurate accounting and assisting with the analysis of project outcomes, this role will help manage cost structures and improve the profitability of project business operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform general accounting functions such as:
o Timely and accurate month-end close.
o Review of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting packages.
o Assistance with the development of annual operating plans (AOP).
o Identification and implementation of procedural improvements.
• Convert system-generated invoices into AIA-style contractor payment applications.
• Submit payment applications and supporting documentation, including lien waivers.
• Monitor and follow up on payment statuses, progress payments, and final settlement.
• Facilitate project closeout reviews to identify financial and operational improvements.
• Manage other assigned responsibilities as needed.
Senior Accountant Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• 3 years of construction/project accounting experience
• Strong understanding of AIA-standard pay applications and construction payment processes.
• Experience with lien waivers, project closeout procedures, and payment tracking.
• Expertise in financial analysis, project budgeting, and cost management strategies.
• Proficiency in accounting processes such as reconciliation, month-end close, and financial reporting.
