Robert Half is currently recruiting for an established and expanding construction company in Fort Myers that is currently looking for a Project Accountant. This person will be responsible for overseeing the accounting functions for the main company and manage the project accounting for their other entities. This role will also supervise a small team (2-3) of administrative and accounting staff, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle accounting for the main company and the job costing for the other entities.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and job cost reports.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Supervise and mentor administrative and accounting staff.
- Collaborate with project managers to track costs and maintain accurate job costing.
- Utilize QuickBooks for day-to-day accounting functions.
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and financial planning.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of accounting experience working for a construction company
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- QuickBooks and other job costing accounting software
- Comfortable in a very hands-on role and the ability to adapt quickly to changes
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
