What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Clerk position at Robert Half?

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our team in Woburn, Massachusetts. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate payroll processing and maintaining compliance with legal and organizational standards. This position requires someone who can handle sensitive information with confidentiality while collaborating effectively with various departments.

Responsibilities:
• Process weekly payroll for employees across multiple locations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain updated employee records, including onboarding, terminations, and pay adjustments.
• Verify and calculate deductions, benefits contributions, and garnishments in adherence to regulations.
• Ensure payroll processes comply with federal, state, and local laws.
• Prepare detailed payroll reports for management and accounting teams.
• Address employee questions regarding payroll, taxes, and timekeeping promptly.
• Collaborate with HR and Accounting to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate data.
• Assist in year-end procedures, including generating W-2 forms and processing tax filings.
• Utilize ADP Workforce Now for payroll tasks, reporting, and system updates.
• Minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-location setting.
• Proficiency in payroll systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now is mandatory.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Proven ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
• Strong understanding of payroll compliance and regulations.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments.
