Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable Management: Process, verify, and post invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payment.
- Auditing: Conduct regular audits of accounting records to maintain accuracy and compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Reporting: Generate and maintain reports related to accounts payable, financial statements, and cash flow to support decision-making.
- Vendor Relations: Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain positive working relationships.
- Compliance: Ensure that all financial documentation aligns with nonprofit fiscal policies and accounting standards.
- Record Maintenance: Organize and maintain comprehensive records of accounts payable transactions for easy retrieval and audit purposes.
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in accounts payable or financial auditing.
- Nonprofit Background: Experience working in a nonprofit environment is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with nonprofit accounting software is preferred.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to accuracy and detail.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with vendors, team members, and stakeholders.
