Logistics Assistant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Logistics Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in East Columbus. This role is ideal for someone ready to take ownership of administrative and coordination tasks while supporting manufacturing logistics operations. You will play a vital role in managing customs processes, tracking documentation, and ensuring timely responses to critical requests.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate customs processes and ensure compliance with all regulations.

• Perform clerical tasks, including tracking, organizing, and uploading documents into platforms such as Microsoft Teams.

• Monitor responses and verify qualifications, escalating issues as necessary.

• Implement time-stamping procedures to ensure timely handling of logistics-related tasks.

• Assist in the solicitation of parts from suppliers for designated plant operations.

• Maintain accurate records and provide updates regarding shipping and receiving activities.

• Collaborate with team members to resolve logistical challenges efficiently.

• Ensure the security and integrity of all logistics-related data and processes.

• Support shipping functions, including documentation and coordination with suppliers.

• Facilitate communication between suppliers and internal departments to streamline operations.

• Proven experience in logistics or related fields within the manufacturing industry.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Teams and other document management systems.
• Excellent organizational and clerical skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions without needing constant confirmation.
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes and customs coordination.
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to maintaining the security and accuracy of sensitive logistics data.
