Inventory Manager

We are looking for an experienced Inventory Manager to oversee inventory operations in our warehouse located in Des Moines, Iowa. This role requires a strategic thinker who can lead teams effectively, ensure accurate inventory management, and coordinate the movement of materials across multiple facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of inventory processes to support operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee warehouse inventory teams, assigning daily tasks and ensuring performance goals are met.

• Address team conflicts and collaborate with the Director of Operations when necessary.

• Implement employee development initiatives, including performance reviews, coaching, and disciplinary actions.

• Supervise the receiving process, ensuring purchase order verification, accurate coding, and correct quantity checks.

• Develop and execute cycle count plans to maintain precise inventory records.

• Investigate inventory discrepancies with accounting specialists and other departments, adjusting records to match physical counts.

• Plan and coordinate inventory transfers between multiple facilities, optimizing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

• Work closely with department managers to create delivery schedules that align with operational needs.

• Direct forklift operators to ensure proper inventory storage and transfers.

• Collaborate with purchasing teams to organize deliveries to appropriate facilities.

• Proven experience in inventory management or a related field.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
• Knowledge of inventory control processes, including cycle counts and discrepancy investigations.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations and material handling equipment.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to coordinate logistics and optimize delivery schedules.

• Proficiency in inventory accounting and forecasting techniques.
