What are the responsibilities and job description for the Indirect Tax Manager position at Robert Half?
- Lead all U.S. and multi-state indirect tax compliance, including sales & use tax, property tax, GST/VAT (if applicable), and business license filings.
- Manage monthly/quarterly tax returns, reconciliations, use-tax accruals, notices, and audit responses, ensuring accuracy and full regulatory compliance.
- Oversee indirect tax planning and research, monitoring legislative changes and advising leadership on tax implications and risk mitigation.
- Maintain and improve tax systems, exemption certificate management, automation tools, and process controls to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Partner with Accounting, Procurement, AP, AR, Operations, and Legal to ensure proper tax treatment on purchases, sales, contracts, and system setups.
- Manage external advisors, auditors, and state/local tax authorities, providing documentation and support as needed.
- Prepare and present tax-related reporting, analytics, KPIs, and technical memos to leadership, supporting strategic business decisions.
