HR Generalist

We are looking for an experienced HR-Generalist to join a team in Camden, New Jersey. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a key role in supporting our human resources operations, ensuring smooth processes across employee relations, onboarding, and benefits administration. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving low-income communities.

Responsibilities:

• Handle employee relations matters, providing guidance and support to management and staff on workplace concerns.

• Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a seamless integration into the organization.

• Oversee benefits administration, including enrollment, troubleshooting, and communication with employees.

• Maintain and update HR records in the HRIS system, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.

• Assist with HR-related documentation, including policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.

• Support recruitment efforts by coordinating interviews, managing candidate communication, and ensuring a positive experience for all applicants.

• Facilitate training sessions to ensure employees are informed about company policies and available resources.

• Monitor and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.

• Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for process improvements within the HR function.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a human resources role, preferably in a nonprofit setting.

• Strong understanding of employee relations and HR best practices.

• Proficiency in HRIS systems and maintaining accurate employee records.

• Experience managing onboarding and benefits administration processes.

• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail.

• Familiarity with employment laws and regulations.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
