We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to oversee and optimize safety programs across multiple operational sites in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. This role requires a strategic leader who can foster a proactive safety culture, drive risk reduction initiatives, and ensure compliance with safety standards throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive environmental health and safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage environmental compliance related to waste disposal, air and water quality, chemical management, and emergency response.
- Provide EHS training and resources to staff at all levels, promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Track, analyze, and report safety and environmental performance metrics to leadership and regulatory agencies.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies during inspections and ensure all required reporting and permits are up to date.
- Oversee the development and execution of emergency preparedness and response plans.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, facilities, and HR to ensure alignment with safety objectives and continuous process improvements.
- Stay current on industry best practices and regulatory changes, recommending and implementing updates to company EHS programs as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Organizational Leadership, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• A minimum of 5–10 years of progressive safety experience in a manufacturing environment, with multi-site leadership experience preferred.
• Proven ability to lead safety culture improvements and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Strong knowledge of industrial safety practices.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver effective training sessions.
• High integrity, credibility, and the ability to lead without direct authority.
• Relevant safety certifications, such as OSHA 30-Hour General Industry, are required; additional certifications are preferred.
