Interim Global Trade Compliance & Audit SME (Hybrid – Minneapolis Area)
We’re partnering with Protiviti to support a high-visibility internal audit engagement focused on global trade, import/export compliance, and cross-border risk management within a complex, multinational operating environment.
This is not staff augmentation and not a backfill role. You’ll be embedded as a subject matter expert within the internal audit team, helping execute a targeted audit whose objective is to validate the effectiveness, maturity, and risk coverage of the organization’s global trade and compliance function.
What you’ll be working on:
- Assessing and validating import/export and global trade compliance processes
- Evaluating controls, governance, and operating effectiveness across trade lanes
- Identifying compliance, regulatory, and operational risk gaps
- Supporting audit readiness and remediation planning
- Advising audit leadership on what “good” looks like in a compliant, scalable global trade operation
Relevant background / expertise:
- Deep experience in import/export compliance, customs, and global trade operations
- Familiarity with regulated environments and quality/compliance frameworks such as:
- ISO 9001 / ISO 13485
- FDA 21 CFR Part 820
- cGMP, QMS
- Validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
- Risk management & audit readiness
- Prior experience working with or alongside internal audit, compliance, or risk teams is strongly preferred
Engagement details:
- Duration: 3 months (strong likelihood of extension)
- Location: Hybrid – Minneapolis / Twin Cities area
- Structure: Contract / consulting engagement through Protiviti/Robert Half
This is a high-impact, judgment-heavy role for someone who truly understands how global trade compliance should work in practice—not just on paper—and can help an audit team pressure-test real-world execution.
Salary : $85 - $100
