FULLY REMOTE: Labor & Employment Attorney

Robert Half Legal is partnering with a prominent educational institution to assist in their Labor and Employment department’s search for a skilled California-licensed Labor and Employment Attorney. This role is a fully remote, 6-month contract assignment designed to cover a maternity leave. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing skills and substantial labor and employment experience, with a particular focus on union-related matters. Litigation experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities:

• Draft detailed responses to complaints and grievances, ensuring clarity and compliance with applicable laws and organizational policies.
• Provide legal advice and guidance related to labor and employment matters, including union-related issues.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve disputes and maintain effective labor relations.
• Perform legal research and analysis pertinent to the institution’s workforce matters.
• Assist with overall case preparation and documentation as required.

Requirements:

• Active California Bar license required.
• Proven labor and employment experience, with expertise in union-related issues a strong advantage.
• Strong legal writing and analytical skills required.
• Litigation experience beneficial but not mandatory.
• Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines in a fully remote environment.

Contract Details:

• Duration: 6 months (covering leave of absence).
• Location: Fully remote.
