Robert Half is seeking an experienced and driven Cost Accounting Manager to lead our client's cost accounting function and oversee the team. This role requires a strong background in cost accounting, inventory processes, and team leadership, as well as a passion for process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of relevant experience along with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the cost accounting team to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations.
  • Provide strategic direction for inventory-related activities while fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
  • Inventory Management & Reconciliation:
  • Oversee inventory planning processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and forecasts.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Manage inventory reconciliation efforts to maintain accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Cost Accounting Processes:
  • Implement and maintain accurate cost accounting methodologies for inventory, production, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
  • Ensure timely and accurate cost reporting, including variance analysis and monthly reports.
  • Process Improvement Initiatives:
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives for financial operations and systems related to inventory and cost accounting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies and recommend best practices.
  • Compliance & Reporting:
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and accounting standards.
  • Prepare financial reports and provide insights to support decision-making by senior leadership.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in cost accounting and inventory management.

• Strong expertise in inventory analysis and reconciliation.

• Proven track record in managing annual inventory and physical inventory processes.

• Proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
