We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to support the accuracy and integrity of our financial and inventory records. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely and accurate cost accounting, inventory reconciliation, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and eager to identify efficiencies in accounting processes and cost controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile inventory balances between the subledger and general ledger on a daily and monthly basis.
- Record and review all inventory-related transactions, including adjustments, transfers, and write-offs.
- Prepare and analyze journal entries and reconciliations during month-end close.
- Support and oversee physical and cycle counts, investigating variances and ensuring corrective actions.
- Analyze cost data, inventory performance, and trends to support business decision-making.
- Develop and maintain detailed schedules, documentation, and analyses for internal and external audits.
- Partner with Operations, Procurement, and Finance to ensure accurate cost allocation and COGS reporting.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.
- Participate in ERP system upgrades and related testing for inventory and cost accounting modules.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
- 3–5 years of experience in cost or inventory accounting.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and cost accounting methodologies.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs).
- Experience with ERP systems and subledger reconciliations preferred.
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to question existing processes to drive efficiencies.
Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
