Cost Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. This role is perfect for someone with experience in food manufacturing who thrives in a focused, quiet work environment. Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain accurate cost accounting systems tailored to food manufacturing operations.
• Perform annual reviews and updates of standard costs to ensure alignment with financial goals.
• Analyze raw material inventory and purchasing activities to optimize cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with the purchasing department to track and manage materials effectively.
• Implement activity-based costing methods to provide actionable insights for decision-making.
• Prepare and present cost analysis reports to support business strategy and operational improvements.
• Monitor and reconcile variances in production costs to maintain financial accuracy.
• Utilize Dynamics GP and Microsoft Excel to manage and report on financial data.
• Support internal audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in cost accounting within the food manufacturing industry.
• Strong understanding of activity-based costing and standard costing methods.
• Proficiency in using Dynamics GP and advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
• Solid knowledge of inventory management and purchasing processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a quiet, focused environment.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
