Controller

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join a non-profit organization based in the greater Turners Falls, Massachusetts area. In this contract position, you will oversee key financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the organization's success through accurate financial management and strategic forecasting.

Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial performance.

• Prepare and review comprehensive financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.

• Oversee and complete annual external audits, working closely with auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy.

• Develop and maintain financial forecasts to support strategic planning and decision-making.

• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring proper documentation and timely transactions.

• Supervise journal entries and reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial records.

• Ensure compliance with annual audited financial statement requirements.

• Collaborate with teams to manage collections and optimize cash flow.

• Utilize NetSuite to streamline financial operations and reporting.

• Proven experience in financial management and accounting, preferably in a non-profit setting.

• Proficiency in NetSuite.

• Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures and financial reporting standards.

• Expertise in handling annual external audits and audited financial statements.

• Ability to prepare accurate journal entries and maintain detailed reconciliations.

• Demonstrated forecasting and strategic planning skills.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
