Our client is looking for an experienced Controller to oversee the financial and accounting operations of our organization based in Williston, Vermont. This key leadership role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with established accounting standards, and providing strategic insights to support business decision-making. The Controller will lead a dedicated team, manage internal controls, and collaborate with cross-functional departments to drive operational efficiency and long-term success.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and enhance month-end and year-end closing procedures, including payroll reconciliations.

• Ensure the accuracy and timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations for all general ledger accounts.

• Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

• Establish and maintain robust internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.

• Collaborate with organizational leadership to develop forecasts, budgets, and strategic financial plans.

• Provide actionable insights into key financial metrics and performance drivers to support decision-making.

• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure efficient and accurate processing.

• Coordinate audit activities, including preparing schedules and documentation for external auditors.

• Oversee inventory management processes to ensure accurate counts and reconciliations.

• Supervise and develop the Finance and Accounting team, fostering growth and attention to detail in development

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in finance or accounting leadership roles.
• Expertise in document control, scanning, and compiling financial documents.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data.
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective internal controls.
• Advanced proficiency in financial reporting and budgeting processes.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal financial regulations.
• Experience collaborating across departments to achieve organizational goals.
