Controller (contract-to-hire)

We are looking for a detail-oriented Controller to join our team in North Richland Hills, Texas. This Contract-to-permanent position is ideal for an experienced financial expert with expertise in general ledger management, month-end close processes, and financial reporting. The role offers a hybrid work schedule, combining in-office collaboration and remote flexibility. This is a contract-to-hire position. Hybrid work schedule: Tuesday-Thursday in office.

Contract-to-hire Controller:

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the execution of a 5-day month-end close process, ensuring reports are reviewed and submitted to the parent company within the required timeline.

• Conduct thorough reviews of organizational controls, account reconciliations, and intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Act as the primary escalation point for inquiries related to the general ledger, providing guidance and resolution.

• Offer cross-functional support for accounts receivable and accounts payable subledgers to streamline operations.

• Address and resolve existing backlogs, including delayed intercompany reconciliations and bank reconciliations.

• Collaborate with teams to finalize control systems and improve overall financial processes.

• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring they meet audit and compliance standards.

• Provide technical expertise in Infor (Webvue), Onestream, and Excel to optimize reporting and data analysis.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and finance, with a focus on general ledger and subledger management.

• Proven expertise in month-end close processes and financial statement preparation.

• Strong background in account reconciliations and controls, with an emphasis on compliance and accuracy.

• Familiarity with distribution, retail, or industrial sectors.

• Proficiency in using Infor (Webvue), Onestream, and advanced Excel functions, such as pivot tables.

• Solid understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and audit procedures.

• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, with in-office presence required Tuesday through Thursday.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address financial challenges and improve processes.
