Commercial Transactional Real Estate Attorney

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Transactional Real Estate Attorney to join our dynamic team in Washington, District of Columbia. This boutique firm is renowned for representing some of the most prominent real estate owners in the area, tackling complex transactions both locally and across the nation. The ideal candidate will excel at delivering practical legal solutions, managing multiple priorities, and collaborating in a client-focused environment.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee and negotiate purchase and sale agreements for office, retail, industrial, residential, and mixed-use real estate projects.
• Structure and close secured and general commercial loans, as well as land development transactions.
• Draft and negotiate lease agreements for landlords and tenants, including office, retail, industrial, and ground leases.
• Provide legal guidance on financing arrangements such as acquisition, construction, permanent, and mezzanine loans.
• Represent property owners in telecommunications, cable, satellite, and building service agreements.
• Handle government leases and contracts, including responses and claims under the Contract Disputes Act.
• Facilitate Section 1031 tax-deferred exchanges and advise clients on related processes.
• Draft partnership, joint venture, and other organizational agreements related to property transactions and development.
• Assist with condominium creation and conversion projects.
• Advise clients on compliance with tenant rights laws in the District of Columbia.

• Active license to practice law in the District of Columbia or eligibility for admission by waiver.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial transactional real estate law.

• Strong knowledge of acquisitions, development, financing, and leasing within the real estate sector.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage client relationships.

• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Demonstrated expertise in handling complex real estate transactions and agreements.

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail.
