Cloud Security Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Security Engineer to join our team. In this senior-level role, you will be instrumental in enhancing our organization's security measures by monitoring systems, responding to incidents, and implementing effective security strategies. This is a long-term contract position, offering the opportunity to work collaboratively with IT operations while mentoring entry-level staff and driving security initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough analysis of system and network logs to identify anomalies and potential security breaches.

• Investigate security alerts, suspicious activities, and respond to incidents with appropriate remediation steps.

• Utilize Tenable to identify vulnerabilities and provide actionable recommendations to address them.

• Monitor and manage network security using Fortinet tools such as FortiAnalyzer and FortiGate firewalls.

• Secure and maintain cloud platforms, including Entra ID, Office 365, and Microsoft Defender.

• Assist in the design and implementation of robust security protocols to strengthen organizational defenses.

• Collaborate with IT operations and outsourced vendors to ensure security measures are effectively executed.

• Mentor entry-level team members, providing guidance to enhance their technical capabilities.

• Track vulnerability remediation progress and validate successful resolution.

• Report unauthorized access incidents and provide updates to the security committee

• Extensive experience in cybersecurity, particularly in cloud and network security.
• Proficiency with Fortinet tools including FortiAnalyzer and FortiGate.
• Strong knowledge of vulnerability management tools such as Tenable.
• Experience securing cloud environments like Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Office 365.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Defender and other security tools.
• Ability to analyze system logs and respond to security incidents effectively.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with IT teams and provide guidance to entry-level staff.
• Relevant certifications such as Security are a plus but not mandatory.
