Our client is seeking a Purchasing Agent on a contract basis for a fully onsite role in Whitehouse Station, NJ.Job DescriptionManage purchasing and inventory control to ensure a timely and cost-effective flow of materials for manufacturing operationsCoordinate with the Production Planner to support production schedules and customer requirementsSelect, manage, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost efficiency and quality standardsMonitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of raw materials and packagingUtilize MRP systems to plan material requirements and support production needsAnalyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for supply chain improvementsSupport continuous improvement initiatives within purchasing and supply chain operationsJob RequirementsHigh school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred3–5 years of experience in purchasing, material planning, or inventory controlMRP system experience requiredStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large data setsProficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Word and PowerPointStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
