Business Analyst

We are looking for a skilled Business Analyst to join our team in Chesapeake, Virginia. In this role, you will oversee the financial management of a portfolio of 650 retail store leases, ensuring compliance and accuracy in lease-related transactions. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and excels in analyzing financial data and legal documents.

Responsibilities:
• Manage financial transactions related to store leases, including rent, real estate taxes, insurance premiums, and other operating expenses.
• Review and process invoices for recurring payments, ensuring accuracy in adjustments due to expansions, reductions, or lease terminations.
• Analyze and interpret commercial lease agreements to validate operating expenses and compliance with lease terms.
• Conduct desktop audits of landlord reconciliations to confirm charges align with lease agreements and identify discrepancies.
• Investigate and resolve disputes regarding incorrect charges or balance discrepancies in landlord statements.
• Perform historical audits to identify potential overpayments and recover amounts owed to the company.
• Maintain accurate records and databases to monitor workflow and track savings across the assigned portfolio.
• Collaborate with landlords, lease accounting managers, and legal teams to address disputes and resolve critical issues.
• Assist in various projects and handle additional tasks as assigned.
• Ensure timely and accurate responses to evolving priorities and deadlines.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in commercial real estate or property management.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and mathematical skills.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
• Advanced organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.
• Self-motivated individual capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience in real estate or lease/contract management is preferred but not required.
