Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting and Bookkeeping:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other accounts monthly to ensure financial accuracy.
- Handle general ledger bookkeeping, including journal entries and adjustments.
- Payroll and Tax Support:
- Process weekly or bi-weekly employee payroll in alignment with company policies.
- Assist in preparing and filing sales tax, payroll tax, and other compliance submissions.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets, and provide them to the management team on a regular basis.
- Maintain detailed financial records, ensuring they are audit-ready.
- Job Costing and Inventory Management:
- Track and monitor job-related costs for manufacturing projects, including materials, labor, and overhead.
- Assist in maintaining inventory records and perform periodic reconciliations.
- Collaboration with the Leadership Team:
- Support management by providing financial insights to aid in data-driven decisions.
- Interface with external parties such as auditors, vendors, and tax professionals as needed.
- Administrative Support:
- Help organize company financial records and streamline systems to improve accounting accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Education:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Experience:
- 2 years of bookkeeping experience required; experience in the manufacturing sector is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems used in manufacturing settings.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Organizational and Analytical Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in dealing with numbers and financial records.
- Ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Communication Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams and external partners.
