We are looking for an experienced Senior Auditor Consultant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This position offers the flexibility of working remotely while contributing to impactful audit projects. Located in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan, the role allows you to collaborate directly with the Owner of an accounting firm with a strong focus on detail, specializing in audit and tax services.The day-to-day responsibilities include: • Conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits under the guidance of the Internal Audit Manager.• Perform single audits with precision and adherence to established guidelines.• Complete audit assignments within allocated timeframes and budget constraints.• Support the creation and management of the annual internal audit plan.• Prepare comprehensive audit reports and present findings, including actionable recommendations, to relevant stakeholders.• Ensure unresolved audit issues are followed up and addressed promptly.• Collaborate cross-functionally to provide practical solutions to audit-related concerns.• Utilize tools such as Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data effectively.• Apply expertise in HUD and federal funds during audit processes.The ideal candidate will have the following skill set: • Minimum of 5 years of experience in auditing, including financial statement audits.• Proficiency in conducting single audits and managing complex audit tasks.• Familiarity with HUD regulations and federal funding requirements.• Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.• Ability to communicate audit findings clearly and professionally.• Adept at working independently in a remote environment.• Solid understanding of compliance and operational auditing principles.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
