Audit Specialist - Lending

We are looking for an experienced Audit Specialist with a strong background in commercial and consumer lending to join our team in New York, New York. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to contribute your expertise to meaningful audit projects and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed testing and sampling to evaluate processes and controls related to lending processes.

• Perform comprehensive walkthroughs to ensure adherence to established procedures.

• Validate issues and discrepancies identified during audits, ensuring proper resolution.

• Utilize LexisNexis and other tools to analyze data and support audit findings.

• Handle complaints effectively, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Maintain and update case management systems to track audit progress.

• Manage calendars and schedules to ensure timely completion of audit tasks.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to address concerns and improve processes.

• Prepare thorough audit reports documenting findings and recommendations.

• Assist in the development and implementation of improved audit methodologies.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in auditing, with a focus on lending processes.

• Proficiency in using LexisNexis and other industry-relevant tools.

• Experience in complaint handling and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

• Familiarity with case management software for tracking and reporting purposes.

• Strong skills in calendar management to organize and prioritize tasks.

• Excellent analytical skills to identify and resolve issues during audits.

• Proven ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and team members.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and presentations.
