Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Ashburn, Virginia. In this role, you will oversee essential financial processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in managing accounts payable operations. This is a long-term contract position offering a hybrid work schedule, with the possibility to transition from part-time to permanent employment.Responsibilities:• Manage the entire accounts payable cycle, including invoice coding, processing, and payment approvals.• Scan, organize, and maintain financial documents to ensure accurate record-keeping.• Issue checks and oversee Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments in accordance with company policies.• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure consistency between financial records and actual accounts.• Generate detailed financial reports and update spreadsheets to support decision-making processes.• Utilize Microsoft Great Plains Accounting software for transaction management and reporting.• Ensure proper account coding and invoice categorization to maintain accurate financial records.• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve workflow efficiency.• Support hybrid work schedules, maintaining productivity both in-office and remotely.• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role.• Proficiency in Great Plains Accounting software and Excel.• Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, including coding invoices and check runs.• Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and bank reconciliations.• Ability to generate accurate financial reports and manage spreadsheets effectively.• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.• Strong communication abilities to work collaboratively with team members.• Proven ability to adapt to hybrid work environments and maintain productivity.
