Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Camas, Washington. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with strong expertise in payroll processes, QuickBooks Desktop, and general accounting principles. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial management and compliance with tax regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for 50 employees.

• Manage payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

• Utilize QuickBooks Desktop to maintain accurate financial records and perform accounting tasks.

• Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, including invoice management and payment processing.

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.

• Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial statements.

• Assist with month-end closing procedures to finalize financial reports.

• Maintain detailed and organized accounting records for audits and reporting purposes.

• Collaborate with team members to address financial queries and resolve discrepancies.

• Use Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data and create reports.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Enterprise.
• Experience in payroll management for small to medium-sized teams, including tax filings.
• Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes.
• Strong ability to perform bank reconciliations and prepare journal entries.
• Familiarity with month-end closing procedures and financial reporting.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a contract role.
