Title: Plaintiffs’ Personal Injury Associate Attorney (5 Years Experience)
Location: Midtown Manhattan, On-site.
Salary: 125-175K
Our client is seeking an mid-level Plaintiffs’ Personal Injury Associate Attorney with approximately five (5) years of experience to join a busy and well-established personal injury practice in New York City. The ideal candidate will have significant hands-on litigation experience and demonstrated familiarity with Child Victims Act (CVA) matters. This role offers substantial responsibility, direct client contact, and the opportunity to handle cases from inception through resolution, including appellate work.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload of plaintiffs’ personal injury matters from intake through settlement or trial
- Handle CVA cases, including sensitive client communications, liability analysis, and damages development
- Conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
- Draft and argue motions, including discovery motions and dispositive motions
- Appear regularly in New York State courts for conferences, hearings, and oral argument
- Engage in settlement negotiations and mediations with insurance carriers and defense counsel
- Prepare cases for trial, including jury selection, witness preparation, and trial exhibits
- Maintain consistent communication with clients and provide strategic case updates
- Collaborate with partners, associates, paralegals, and support staff to advance litigation goals
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Admission to the New York State Bar (in good standing)
- Approximately 5 years of plaintiffs’ personal injury litigation experience
- Strong knowledge of New York civil procedure and personal injury law
- Proven ability to independently manage cases with minimal supervision
- Excellent legal writing, oral advocacy, and negotiation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience handling Child Victims Act (CVA) cases
- Spanish fluency a plus (but not required)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range $125,000 - $175,000
- Origination bonuses and 5% on all worked cases
- Benefits package (health, dental, vision, PTO)
