Duties
- Greet customers warmly, listen carefully to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document service needs.
- Write detailed repair orders, including descriptions of issues, recommended services, and estimated costs using auto estimating tools.
- Communicate clearly with technicians about customer concerns and ensure all repairs are completed efficiently and correctly.
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, suspension work, alignments, and transmission services to enhance customer satisfaction and shop revenue.
- Manage customer interactions professionally, providing updates on vehicle status and explaining repair procedures in an understandable manner.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain detailed records of all service sales and payments.
- Coordinate with parts departments to ensure timely availability of necessary components for repairs.
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience or prior auto service management background is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures including transmissions, oil changes, brake repairs, shocks & struts, air brakes, alignments, suspension systems, tire services, diesel engine repairs, and auto body work.
- Experience with auto estimating software and service writing is essential for success in this role.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Mechanical knowledge gained through mechanic experience or related roles enhances your ability to understand vehicle issues thoroughly.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
