What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher-Math Specialist (REAMS) position at Robert E. Aylor Middle School?
Qualifications:
- Applicants must hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with a Mathematics Specialist endorsement. Preference will be given to those who also hold or are eligible for an endorsement in Middle Education.
- Have at least three years successful, full-time classroom teaching experience at the 6-8 level required
- Provide evidence of significant participation and implementation into practice of research-based professional growth opportunities in mathematics and mathematics education.
- Have experience working with differentiating instruction to meet student needs.
- Have experience working with students and staff in multiple grade levels.
- Have experience in providing staff development in mathematics content, in mathematics instructional strategies, and in using assessment to inform instruction.
- Have appropriate written and verbal communication skills when interacting with students, teachers, administrators, and parents.
- Have effective time-management and organizational skills.
Pay Rate:
Teacher Salary Scale (credit is based on years of full-time experience in a related position)
Contract:
Full time / 10 months / 200 days
Start Date:
This position is effective for the 2024-2025 school year. Applicants for the 2025-2026 school year will also be considered.
