What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Clerk position at Roanoke-Blacksburg Airport?
Are you a detail-oriented and computer-savvy individual with a passion for accounting? We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our team! This role involves handling Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and various administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process purchase orders, accounts payable, and accounts receivable using a computerized system
- Maintain vendor and customer records
- Prepare financial and statistical reports using MS Excel
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and payments for vendors and customers
- Maintain and update asset records and assist with year-end tax forms
- Reconcile accounts, resolve discrepancies, and assist with cash deposits
- Perform additional administrative duties to support the efficiency of the department
What We're Looking For:
- A self-starter who can follow detailed instructions and work independently
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with accounting practices and processes, including MS Dynamics and MS Excel
- A high school diploma (or equivalent) is required; additional education in accounting and 1-3 years of accounting clerical experience preferred
Requirements:
- Must have a valid Virginia driver's license
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
