ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Instruct, supervise, and evaluate individuals in all areas of community living as outlined in each support plan, while recording data on all instructional programs.
- Implement all assigned behavior plan interventions, including those that may involve physical restraint. Maintain a valid driver’s license and provide transportation as required by the program.
- Assist individuals with scheduling and attending medical appointments, including documenting appropriately and covering off-site shifts or hospital stays as needed (e.g., Boston).
- Support individuals in participating in social and leisure activities such as family gatherings, religious events, and community outings.
- Maintain the residence and yard in a clean, orderly condition as directed by the Residential Manager, including tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, cleaning floors and bathrooms, laundry, and keeping outdoor areas clear of debris, snow, and ice.
- Actively assist individuals with personal care responsibilities, including diet, exercise, meal preparation, bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Provide physical direct care as needed, including transferring individuals using appropriate techniques or equipment.
- Follow established communication protocols, maintain a professional appearance, and demonstrate a positive, proactive attitude when interacting with coworkers, families, and referral agencies.
- Complete required documentation, including daily shift reports, using professional writing standards. Administer medications in accordance with established procedures.
- Attend required meetings and follow program routines and schedules. Participate in training and support the onboarding of new staff as directed.
- Adhere to agency safety standards, policies, and procedures, and perform additional duties or provide coverage across programs as needed.
- Deliver all services in alignment with RTR’s philosophies and organizational values, including those upheld by staff and the Board.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and the internet.
- Successful completion and maintenance of all state and agency mandated trainings, including medication administration.
- Must be willing to authorize a Criminal History Background Check (CORI) and release of information concerning allegations from Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and other agencies.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be fluent in English and have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals under supervision, employees of the organization, families, and members of the community.
